Scam Alert Presentation by Julie Matthews Hosted by Camrose & District FCSS Fraud is the fastest growing crime in Canada, and it’s difficult to stay on top of the latest schemes that are rampant online and in our community. Julie Matthews will share personal stories along with tips and tricks to spot the latest frauds and scams. She will be available to answer your questions and openly discuss the latest scams. We're hosting two free valuable sessions to help you protect yourself and your loved ones from fraud, choose from: Senior Fraud Awareness Presentation: Learn how to identify and avoid scams targeting seniors.2:00pm includes refreshments and snacks or Fraud Prevention Supper & Presentation: Enjoy dinner then learn how to prevent fraud.Dinner at 5:30pm; Presentation at 6:15pm Both sessions will take place at Messiah Lutheran Church Fellowship Centre (4810-50 St., Camrose) Registration required by October 9th - Call 587-844-6815 or email emily@camrosefcss.ca Julie Matthews was an Investigative TV reporter for 19 years including 10 years as Global Edmonton’s Troubleshooter. She then traded her microphone for a badge, becoming a peace officer and senior investigator with the Government of Alberta’s Consumer Investigations Unit for 10 years. She is a certified fraud examiner and co-chair of the Alberta Fraud Prevention Month planning committee. She has a weekly segment on CFCW radio called Scam Alert which has aired every Thursday for close to a decade. She is passionate about fraud prevention and educating the community on scams and has been recognized with numerous community and government awards for her efforts to protect Albertans.
