About the Show
How does a baby react to hearing Whitney Houston for the first time? How about Metallica, or Bach? In this funny, moving storytelling show, JUNO-nominated musician and acclaimed theatre creator Brendan McLeod recounts his newborn daughter’s reactions to the first 1000 songs of her life. In doing so, he breaks down everything from how our body processes music, to how different cultures communicate, to how James Brown learned to dance. Ultimately THE JOY is about the importance of music and family—a tribute to all the things we feel in our heart when we listen with our ears.
