Award-winning author and storyteller Richard Van Camp is joining us for a morning of family-centred stories!
Hot off the heels of his appearance at the Bailey Theatre for Stories the Haunt, join award-winning, internationally renowned storyteller and best-selling author Richard Van Camp at Camrose Public Library for a Saturday morning of family-centred stories!Richard Van Camp is a proud member of the Dogrib (Tłı̨chǫ) Nation from Fort Smith, NWT, Canada. He is a graduate of the En’owkin International School of Writing, the University of Victoria’s Creative Writing BFA Program, and the Master’s Degree in Creative Writing at the University of British Columbia. He now resides in Edmonton with his family.Richard's novel, The Lesser Blessed, was adapted as a film with First Generation Films and premiered in September of 2012 at the Toronto International Film Festival. He is the author 26 genre-spanning pieces of literature including short stories, children's fiction, graphic novels, adult and young adult fiction.Richard's board books for children are a staple in libraries, library programs, and homes across Canada and beyond. He's been a guest here at Camrose Public Library for other Indigenous culture events; we are honoured to have him return to share his stories, and his joy of telling them, with another generation of families.This program is free, but as it begins before the library is open to the public, we will require interested attendees to register.
